Published Mar 20, 2020Today marks the release of Visions, a collaborative album from BADBADNOTGOOD sax player Leland Whitty and former keyboardist/guitarist Matthew Tavares. Now, listeners can stream the entire effort and get a look at how the record came together.
Alongside the 11-track album, Whitty and Tavares have shared two live performance videos that capture the album's intense recording sessions. You can find the pair of clips below, which were directed by James Arthurs and shot at Toronto's Revolution Recording.
As you'll see in the video, the album sessions feature Tavares on piano and guitar, while Whitty plays saxophone and flute. The two are joined by Julian Anderson-Bowes on bass and Matthew Chalmers on drums.
Visions is available to stream and purchase in digital and physical editions through Bandcamp. Today, the platform has waived its revenue share on all music for 24 hours.
Tavares officially confirmed his departure from BADBADNOTGOOD in October of last year. He recently teamed up with Frank Dukes and the Regent Park School of Music for their Parkscapes sample pack series.
Tavares released debut solo album Déjàvu as Matty last year, while BADBADNOTGOOD last delivered their IV album in 2016.
Late last year, the group teamed with vocalist Jonah Yano to cover a soul rarity for Light in the Attic.
