Primavera Sound Cancels 2021 Edition
It marks the second year in a row the Barcelona festival has been cancelled due to COVID-19
Published Mar 02, 2021For the second year running, Barcelona's Primavera Sound has been cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The festival had been rescheduled from its cancelled 2020 edition, with plans to run from June 2 to 6 in Barcelona. The lineup for the fest included the likes of the Strokes, Beck, Massive Attack, Pavement, the National, Caribou and Tyler, the Creator, among many others.
"We have tried everything but we have now made this very painful decision due to the uncertainty surrounding the legal framework for large events on the original dates," organizers said in a statement. They cited "force majeure" as the reason for cancelling.
