Here's the Massive List of All the Projects Billy Corgan Is Working On
Published Dec 24, 2018Having reunited (almost) all of Smashing Pumpkins' original members for a new record and lengthy tour this year, Billy Corgan has now revealed plans to keep his foot on the gas with a handful of projects in 2019.
As Alternative Nation points out, Corgan gave fans a rough rundown of what to expect from both the band and himself in the new year during a recent Q&A on Instagram.
The site reports that a fan asked Corgan, "2019: solo LP, SAOSB vol 2, Christmas LP, Machina reissue. Anything else in the works?"
The frontman responded, "Also preparing future reissues like Zwan and Spun songs and TheFutureEmbrace, oh, and ChicagoKid and an SP best of for 2020."
To save you the mental math, that's nine total releases that Corgan is in the process of lining up to deliver within the next two years. Corgan had previously mentioned both the Christmas album and massive Machina reissues earlier this year.
The Corgan-fronted Zwan — which also included David Pajo, Matt Sweeney, Paz Lenchantin and his Pumpkins bandmate Jimmy Chamberlin — delivered a lone studio LP titled Mary Star of the Sea in 2003, before disbanding that same year.
The album's Europe-only vinyl pressing has been known to fetch three-figure prices on resale sites such as Discogs.
Corgan made his solo debut with the electronic-leaning TheFutureEmbrace in 2005. The album was never pressed to wax. Corgan's unreleased ChicagoKid solo LP had been mentioned as early as 2014, and was said to have been written in 2004.
The Smashing Pumpkins last released greatest-hits compilation Rotten Apples in 2001, which collected the band's output from 1991 to 2000.
