Published Feb 21, 2019Similar to an actual ghost, the Ghostbusters franchise will not rest in peace until it ties up some loose ends. After the hit-and-miss reception that Paul Feig's all-female reboot received in 2016, the film has been passed down from Ivan Reitman to Jason Reitman. Now, it has a decidedly Canadian shooting location.
According to CTV, the film is setting up shop in Calgary this summer. The news was confirmed by Damian Petti, the president of the Calgary chapter of the IATSE.
Petti said he didn't have any confirmation of how many jobs the film would create just yet, but added, "However I will say this, Alberta's screen industry is one of the best opportunities for job growth in Alberta. We are open for business and we welcome new projects such as this one with open arms."
The film doesn't have a start date for production just yet, though it's expected to be released in summer 2020. Watch a brief teaser below.
