Published Jul 24, 2019Rutger Hauer — the actor best known for playing Roy Batty in Ridley Scott's original Blade Runner — has passed away. He died on Friday (July 19) at the age of 75 following a brief illness, his agent confirmed today.

In addition to Blade Runner, Hauer appeared in Dracula 3D and the 2004 mini series Salem Lot. He also appeared in Sin City, Batman Begins and True Blood, among others.
He was born in the Netherlands in 1944. His funeral was held on Wednesday (July 24).
