Plain White T's Stop

This sounds like a Californian version of the Get Up Kids, even though this band is actually from Illinois. The songs on Stop are about being jaded and jilted and lonely, but theres a fresh squeezed flavour to it all that keeps it from sounding too anguished. And the aforementioned themes are laid on in thick slabs on a lot of these songs. Theres plenty more of this kind of thing and they end off with a song called "Radios In Heaven, a Bryan Adams-style ballad that is more than a little maudlin. This may take a few listens to warm up to but once it does, youll enjoy listening to this catchy but sad set of songs.
