Published Oct 13, 2020Like it or not, Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion had one of the year's hugest hits with "WAP." But the duo won't be in the running for a Grammy.
It's unfortunate, to say the least. After all, it would have been extremely exciting to watch the notoriously uptight organization try to wrap its head around "WAP." But the song simply wasn't submitted for consideration.
The news comes via Pitchfork, who report that the song will instead be submitted when Cardi B's next album drops. The album has not yet been announced.
"WAP" was still released smack dab in the middle of the Grammys eligibility period, dropping on August 7 with the window closing on August 31. Here's hoping people still remember the song when the 2022 awards come around.
