'John Wick' Is Called 'John Wick' Because Keanu Reeves Couldn't Remember the Original Movie Title
John Wick has emerged as one of the most beloved action series out there, but the movies could have had an entirely different title if it wasn't due to Keanu Reeves's horrible memory.

In an interview with Comicbook.com, John Wick co-creator and screenwriter Derek Kolstad revealed that the original 2014 film had an entirely different title. Believe it or not, the movie was supposed to be called Scorn, but apparently Keanu kept calling the movie by the wrong name, eventually forcing director Chad Stahelsk and co. to land on John Wick.

"The only reason it's called John Wick is that Keanu kept referring to it as John Wick," Kolstad said. "Marketing was like, 'Dude, that's four to five million dollars in free advertising so far, so it's John Wick instead of Scorn.'"

Like the rest of us, Kolstad added, "I can't imagine it being Scorn now."

As previously reported, Scorn: Chapter 4 John Wick: Chapter 4 has been postponed until May 27, 2022, from its original release date of May 21, 2021, due to the pandemic.
